Business loans, asset finance and invoice finance explained plainly, with the questions to ask before you borrow.

Compare the purpose, repayment pattern and questions to ask for each option. General information only, not a recommendation or eligibility result.
Business loan
- Typical use
- Working capital, stock or growth.
- How it works
- A lump sum repaid with interest over an agreed term.
- Security and risk
- Secured loans put pledged assets at risk. Unsecured loans may still require a personal guarantee.
- Questions to ask
- What are the total repayment, fees and early repayment terms? What does a guarantor owe if the business cannot pay?
Asset finance
- Typical use
- Equipment, machinery or vehicles.
- How it works
- Payments spread the cost of using or buying an asset.
- Security and risk
- Ownership depends on the agreement. The asset may be repossessed if payments are missed.
- Questions to ask
- Who owns and maintains the asset? Is there a deposit or final purchase payment?
Invoice finance
- Typical use
- Cash flow while waiting for business customers to pay invoices.
- How it works
- An advance against eligible unpaid invoices, with charges.
- Security and risk
- Funding depends on invoices and customers. You may remain responsible for unpaid invoices.
- Questions to ask
- Who collects payment? What happens if a customer pays late or disputes an invoice?
Compare written terms and affordable repayments before making a decision. Availability and costs depend on the lender and your circumstances. We are a broker, not a lender, and may receive commission from the lenders we introduce you to.
Who do we help?
Limited companies and LLPs, and sole traders and partnerships seeking more than £25,000. For sole traders and partnerships seeking £25,000 or less, the finance is regulated, so we cannot arrange it ourselves. You can still apply: we record it as a referral enquiry and suggest an authorised partner who can help.
Start with the essentials
The three-step application asks what you need, a little about your business and how to reach you. We do not run a credit search when you apply. Please do not send bank statements or identity documents until a member of our team asks for them.
Finance is subject to lender assessment and terms. Nothing on this page is an offer or an indication that you will be approved.
