Business IVA information

General information only. An arrangement is not a recommendation or a promise to write off debt.

IVAs are for individuals

An Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) is a formal agreement with creditors to repay some or all of an individual’s debts. It can include sole traders; it is not a company debt solution. A licensed insolvency practitioner handles the arrangement.

Companies use a different arrangement

A Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) is an arrangement for a company to repay creditors over an agreed period. It also requires an insolvency practitioner. Whether an arrangement is available or appropriate depends on the circumstances.

Understand the consequences

Fees and ongoing obligations apply. An IVA is recorded on a public insolvency register, and failure to keep up repayments can have serious consequences, including bankruptcy. Specialist advice should cover the risks, costs and alternatives. Rules and available solutions vary across the UK.

Information, with clear limits

WeFund Business does not advise on, package or administer IVAs or CVAs. If you ask us to, we record a referral enquiry and suggest an appropriately authorised partner or licensed insolvency practitioner; nothing is passed on unless you ask us to. Send us a message to ask.
